Julie Reed, Baylor University
Executive Director

Julie Reed is the student media adviser at Baylor University, where she has worked with budding student journalists since 2005. She has a Bachelor of Arts in journalism and English from the University of North Texas and a Master of Arts in American Studies from Baylor University. She began her career as a copy editor at The Lubbock Avalanche-Journal and continues to freelance as a copy editor. Julie previously served as TIPA president, vice president and secretary.

Kasi Key, Tyler Junior College
President

Kasi Key (Dickerson) is a professor of mass communication at Tyler Junior College and serves as an adviser for The DrumBeat Student Media. Kasi previously taught mass communication at Stephen F. Austin State University and worked for several years for SFA’s University Marketing Communications where she flexed her creative and writing muscles. She has a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in journalism from SFA.  

Jesus Sanchez, UTRGV
Vice President

Jesus Antonio Sanchez is a Student Media program adviser at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. He has a bachelor’s degree in communication and a master’s degree in business administration from UTRGV. Jesus has been involved in Student Media and TIPA as a student in 2014, where he won 21 awards, and as a full-time adviser since 2019. He has worked as a news and sports reporter for the local newspapers in the Rio Grande Valley: The Brownsville Herald, RGVSports, Valley Morning Star and The Monitor.
