Wanda Garner Cash

A Texas community newspaper veteran with more than 25 years of experience, Cash has been editor and publisher of The Baytown Sun, executive editor of The Brazosport Facts, assistant managing editor of The Galveston County Daily News and editor of the Kerrville Daily Times. She is a past president of the Freedom of Information Foundation of Texas, Texas Press Association, and Texas Associated Press Managing Editors. She led a media coalition in 2005 to push for a Texas shield law and serves as the media member of the Texas Supreme Court’s judicial Advisory Council’s committee on Public Access to Court Records. Her higher education experience includes associate director of the School of Journalism at The University of Texas at Austin, clinical professor and Fellow to the S. Griffin Singer Professorship, and chairman of the executive committee of Texas Student Media.
Karen Elliott House

She is former publisher of The Wall Street Journal, senior vice president of Dow Jones & Company, and a Pulitzer Prize winning reporter and editor. While at the WSJ, she was foreign editor, diplomatic correspondent. In addition to the Pulitzer Prize for international reporting, she has received two Overseas Press Club awards and the Edwin M. Hood Award for Excellence in Diplomatic Reporting. She has interviewed and met with world leaders, served on multiple non-profit boards and higher education advisory boards and taught at Harvard University’s Institute of Politics and been a senior fellow at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government.
