    Entry Title: Social Media Excellence

Judge Comment: Great variety of posts and mindful use of features like collaborating, tagging, using people to drive more likes and engagement. Very smart to share story links and quotes in the description. Great use of social media as a tool!
  • Place Name: Second Place
    Contestant Name: UT-Tyler
Entry Title: Patriot Talon - Social Media
    Entry Credit: Patriot Talon Staff
Judge Comment: Very nicely done! I enjoyed the variety of posts and how informative, creative and approachable each one was. The posts demonstrate a good understanding of the audience. And by looks of the engagement, it looks like these posts were successful with your audience! To improve your skills I would play with the settings on the external microphones used to get clean and crisp sound to go a long with the great video content and editing.
  • Place Name: Third Place
    Contestant Name: Midwestern
    Entry Title: Wichitan Online
Entry Credit: Aaron Burrows, The Wichitan Staff
Judge Comment: I really enjoyed the video quality and editing of the reels. I would have liked to see a use of music on the more fun posts and think it would've made them more exciting. For the news stories, I think providing some short narrative graphics would have helped explain what the viewers were looking at without the need to go to the description. Great job thinking of creative ways to tell stories with a small staff!!
  • Place Name: Honorable Mention
    Contestant Name: San Antonio College
    Entry Title: Sundial Instagram
Entry Credit: Jacob Lopez, Sarah Sanchez, Niko Maurer
Judge Comment: Nice use variety of posts to share different stories. I would have liked to see a document included explaining content strategy. But I think the content and descriptions were strong and informative.
  • Competition Comment: Winning entries explored various content types, from reporter-package style videos, b-roll supplemented by graphics, pictures with detailed descriptions, and trendy style walk-and-talk storytelling. These entries also showed knowledge of using various social media features and social media strategy.
