Puns are dangerous territory, but if you could understand the headline with or without the pun, you're in the clear -- and that was definitely the case with the first option. The quote used in your second selection was powerful and couldn't be paraphrased. It told an emotional story. And the third headline was light but still opened a door into a story. Excellent!
