Entry Title: Coach's Corner: New tennis coach Wade Morgan sets out to change team culture
    Entry Credit: Thomas Parsons
Judge Comment: Littered with quotes from multiple players, this is a well-reported sports feature on the new tennis coach. While it's less a column, its use of correct grammar, punctuation and journalism style, ranks it higher than others in this category.
  • Place Name: Third Place
    Contestant Name: Trinity University
Entry Title: It’s time we revive school spirit in Tiger fan culture
    Entry Credit: Anthony Romero

  • Place Name: Honorable Mention
    Contestant Name: West Texas A&M
Entry Title: Leading with Heart: Inside the Lady Buff Volleyball Legacy
    Entry Credit: Jade Ramos
Judge Comment: Appreciate the effort to get multiple voices in this piece, as well as the look into a player's 9-5 schedule.
  • Competition Comment: At this level, the localized stories and columns will typically rank higher than any commentary on state, national or international sports. That being said, correct use of grammar, punctuation, journalistic style and editing is paramount. Good topics covered in this category but students who have more than only a working knowledge of sports.
