TIPA Awards 2024

Social Media ( Division 2) Back

  • Place Name: First Place
    Contestant Name: San Antonio College
Entry Title: SAC Sundial Instagram Page
Entry Credit: Ruth Paul, Aidan De Leon, Olivia Rico, Daz Ramirez
Judge Comment: - Impressed by variety of posts and news value added to each one. - Great use of photojournalism to complement the articles on the website. - The captions gave the reader what they needed to either 1) know what they needed to know or 2) decide if they want to read more on the website.
  • Place Name: Second Place
    Contestant Name: Del Mar College
    Entry Title: Foghorn News instagram
Entry Credit: Haylie Godoy, Lola Ponce
Judge Comment: - Love the ode to the campus cat — newsworthy but also community-driven, which good social is! - The templates are great. They also include too much information. Recommend splitting it by pages or including some information in the caption instead. (Author credit, for example.) Also recommend streamlining some of the design to make the headline focus more clear.
  • Place Name: Third Place
    Contestant Name: Tarrant County College
Entry Title: Overall Excellence Social Media
    Entry Credit: Collegian Staff
Judge Comment: - The coordinated coverage on Election Day was nice, and great to see it spread across social platforms. - There’s room for improvement on social graphics. Recommend refining them to make it easier for the audience to grasp the news quickly if not reading the captions.
