- Place Name: First Place
Contestant Name: Tarrant County College
Entry Title: GOP tries to suppress student voters
Entry Credit: Fousia Abdullahi, Huda Qureshi
Judge Comment: The editorial effectively countered every argument put forth by county officials on why certain polls should be eliminated. The editorial identified a subject that directly affected students at TCC, thereby not only highlighting loss of vote access but underscoring the value of the vote. The editorial did its work in a relatively concise manner.

- Place Name: Second Place
Contestant Name: Rice
Entry Title: The constitutional challenge is right — and new SA leaders must learn its lessons
Entry Credit: The Thresher Editorial Board
Judge Comment: Writing about student government can be deadly dull, but The Thresher identified a political sleight-of-hand as power play. The editorial, using forceful language but without histrionics, made an eloquent case of constitutional abuse. That kind of abuse deserves to be called out, whether in student government or in national government.

- Place Name: Third Place
Contestant Name: Del Mar College
Entry Title: Teacher pay disparity reflects on students
Entry Credit: Aubree Curran
Judge Comment: The Foghorn editorial rightfully identified a concern for students: the quality of teaching and the elements that lead to it. In this case, it is the adjunct teaching staff and the high number on staff. Might have benefited from more facts on salaries, but raising the question starts the conversation.

- Place Name: Honorable Mention
Contestant Name: Dallas College - Richland
Entry Title: Chronicle gives thanks
Entry Credit: Richland Chronicle Staff
Judge Comment: The dreaded holiday editorial, even by professionals, was well done by the Chronicle. It really did sound thankful.
