Judge Comment: This page captures readers immediately and has fantastic "curb appeal" (what it would look like folded on the rack.) Love the use of the cutout and dropping the photo down into the type as well. Just a real winner here.

Judge Comment: Simple, clean, effective. Sometimes the best designs take the approach of restraint and in doing so let other -- more important -- elements sing, like photos. The ability to make that choice shows skillful design sense by not falling prey to tossing every noodle of spaghetti at the wall.

Judge Comment: Another solid cover from SMU. More simple and clean and offers an exhale. Would like to see you explore playing with the typography to see if you could make something that resembles a balloon about to pop. Would have also kept the sans serif font for the smaller type around the bubble.
