Place Name: First Place Contestant Name: West Texas A&M Entry Title: What to know about Thunder XIV Entry Credit: Lindsey Sawin Judge Comment: An easy first place choice for me! The design was creative and well-executed, and the interactive part was user friendly and super organized.
Place Name: Second Place Contestant Name: Texas Tech Entry Title: Crossword Nov. 16 Entry Credit: Nathan Kenison Judge Comment: In terms of creativity, organization, and user experience, these two crosswords (second and third place) were very well done.

Place Name: Honorable Mention Contestant Name: UT-Arlington Entry Title: Pro-Palestine demonstration Entry Credit: Drew Shaw Judge Comment: I think this was an excellent way to organize and communicate important news information to people, and is a format I'd love to see used more often in news and social media. The reason it didn't place was because the design choice when it came to text and how it fit on the slides made it difficult to read and looked unprofessional.
Competition Comment: This division was somewhat difficult to know how exactly to judge the entries. The "News Value" note in particular was unclear...I wasn't entirely sure what it meant and whether it was more important or of equal importance than say the design value. I therefore based my judgements mainly on if the entries were user-friendly, creative, and had good design.
