An outstanding journalist.
Competition Comment: This was a tough category to judge. A few other competitors deserve mention: Graham Hotard's strong reporting on faculty raises at A&M-San Antonio and the ouster of two local school board members. Grace Lawrence's poise and presence as an SMU sports reporter and anchor. Jonathan Perriello's very good series that wove a flash flood on the UT-Arlington campus into an examination of the effects of climate change in the area.
