Judge Comment: Everything was great. I fell in love with the font usage and graphics. The only tiny issue I had was on the "Must Know Mustangs" page. I liked the photos, but I didn't like the layout of the text. I wouldn't try to play with it some more, but it was perfect. Feel proud of yourselves.

Judge Comment: Informative, colorful and great idea to reach back out to previous editors.

Judge Comment: Really colorful and informative. The only issues I had dealt with organization. On your content page, the text doesn't line up which makes it look a bit rushed. And on page four, I really wish you didn't use a plain text box in the center. It just felt like whoever designed the page had no idea what to do and went for their last resort. Regardless, I really enjoyed it. I plan on visiting the Dallas area soon so I'll be using this as a guide.
  • Place Name: Honorable Mention
    Contestant Name: Baylor
Entry Title: Focus Magazine: Tools of the Trade
    Entry Credit: Focus Staff
Judge Comment: Great use of color and font, but try not to put text so close to images. It makes it too tight and isn't pleasing on the age. Some examples are on pages 5, 6, 11 and 13.
  • Competition Comment: Y'all did great and should be proud of yourselves. Putting an entire magazine is no easy work. Take these critiques to the heart and learn from your mistakes. Mistakes are lessons and there is nothing wrong with making errors along your journey to your career.
