Judge Comment: I love the flow and festiveness of this graphic. It’s visually appealing and filled with interesting nuggets. I like how the petals guide the reader through the graphic and lead them to more information about the marigold. A good choice to bold the white text and bump up the point size on a dark background. Consider incorporating a bit more space into your next piece; your text runs a bit close to some of the elements and to the edges of the box. See what it looks like when you give it a bit more space to breathe. Overall, bravo!

Judge Comment: This infographic is easy to read and quickly conveys the information with text and graphics.
  • Place Name: Third Place
    Contestant Name: Eastfield College
    Entry Title: ETC Info graphic
Entry Credit: April Calvo, Matt Faught
Judge Comment: This bright and detailed infographic is attention-grabbing. It shows planning and organization. For such a science-heavy graphic, especially, attribute as much information as possible. (I spotted one source.) For future judging, consider rotating your page PDFs for easier viewing.

Judge Comment: I like the simplicity and easy-to-follow icons of this graphic. Consider hierarchy. You have space to increase the size of your subheads; they are more important to the reader than the byline. An important note: Proof your work and pay attention to tiny details. “Cars” should be possessive. I also spot extra space between words. Not all the lines under your subheads are the same distance from text or consistent lengths (Are they meant to extend past the words or be flush with them?) Take the time to polish your work.
