Place Name: First Place Contestant Name: A&M-Kingsville Entry Title: The boulevard flings back into action Entry Credit: Emeri Drewry, Erik Estrada, Rae Martinez, Ronni Reyna Judge Comment: Excellent use of text, photos and video. The video was well-produced and I like that the interviews/quotes used within the video were different than what was included in the text of the story.
Place Name: Second Place Contestant Name: Del Mar College Entry Title: Dia De Los Muertos Entry Credit: Andrew-Pól Clements, Marissa Rodriguez Judge Comment: The video contains good content, but the author should work on the audio more next time so the natural sound isn't louder than her voiceovers. Including more interviews in the text of the story as well as incorporating more photos would have made this a stronger multimedia entry.
Place Name: Third Place Contestant Name: Del Mar College Entry Title: Counseling Center holding annual therapy dog event Entry Credit: Ana Alldredge, Jack Kramer Judge Comment: This was a cute entry and I like the creativity of his final standup shot. The video could be improved by identifying all the speakers with a graphic. Including more interviews in the text of the story as well as incorporating more photos would have made this a stronger multimedia entry.
Place Name: Honorable Mention Contestant Name: UT-Tyler Entry Title: VIDEOS, GALLERY: Emotional Support, Service Animals Bring Students Comfort Entry Credit: Breanna Bolle Judge Comment: The author does a good job of highlighting two personal experiences in the text of the story, but the multimedia aspects of the submission could be better for a multimedia division. In the future, I would recommend that the video is produced and that it's embedded in the page so you don't have to download it. Video also looks better when it's filmed horizontally. Some of the horizontal photos also needed to be edited so they displayed in the correct orientation on the page.
